Innovative SMEs in the Black Country are being given the chance to boost their work as part of the nationwide Innovative Vouchers programme
Part funded by the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF), the scheme is being delivered to Black Country businesses through a consortium comprising Aston University, Birmingham City University and the University of Wolverhampton.
As part of the scheme, Black Country SMEs can:
• Apply for financial support, an Innovation Voucher, worth £2,500 to access external expertise to support an innovation project
• Access free support in the form of workshops, so that participating companies become more competitive and manage growth effectively
A total of 190 vouchers will be issued between 2016 and 2019. Each SME needs to match £1 received as the Innovation Voucher with £1 of its own company funds.
SMEs can find out more about the Innovation Vouchers by attending free business innovation workshops that are taking place across the region over the coming weeks and months.
