Sandwell Council is demolishing a former depot site in Oldbury to provide land for much-needed housing.

In Detail

Demolition works have started on the building in Crosswells Road and council housing officers are drawing up a plan for a housing development.

“We want to provide much-needed housing to meet the on-going demand for quality new homes,” said Councillor Paul Moore, Sandwell Council's cabinet member for regeneration.

“It is good news that the site is being cleared because it has been hit by anti-social behaviour problems and continued fly-tipping and was an eyesore and source of concern for local residents."

Once the building is demolished the site will be cleared and developed as part of a wider regeneration plan for the area.
