In the year of Bevan’s 40th anniversary, the commercial vehicle body manufacturer and FinditintheBlackCountry member has all the more reason to celebrate, having been ranked number 11 in a list of the top 50 fastest growing companies in Sandwell.
Identified by Think Sandwell, Sandwell Council’s initiative to promote the benefits of doing business in Sandwell, the index document celebrates the progress made by Sandwell’s 50 strongest businesses of the past year, ranked by the rate of their growth in turnover.
Bevan has been ranked number 11 in the index and ranks eighth of the 52% of manufacturing companies that comprise the list.
With 36.9% growth in turnover in 2014, Bevan has vastly exceeded the majority of companies in the top 23 who achieved growth of only 20%.
“We are delighted to have been recognised as one of the top 50 fastest growing companies in Sandwell,” said Anthony Bevan, Group Director of Bevan Group.
He added “When we launched back in 1976, we had just three employees. 40 years on, we have over 250 staff members, are now in a position where our services are businesses in themselves and we have moved to new headquarters due to the rapid and ongoing expansion of the business. Our future as a business looks very exciting and we can’t wait to take Bevan to new heights for many more years to come.”
Councillor Steve Eling, Leader of Sandwell Council, commented on Council’s support to the borough’s local economy in the index document: “As a council, we are working hard to nurture Sandwell’s business strengths, ensuring our borough sustains its diverse economy and continues to increase the numbers of jobs and training opportunities available to our residents.
“Through business programmes, such as Think Sandwell we are creating a culture that continually fosters business confidence, development and growth. Thanks to [the top 50 businesses’] determination and commitment, we as a council are optimistic about Sandwell’s future."
