In Detail

The Elite Centre for Manufacturing Skills (ECMS) has launched a new website aimed at providing specialist training in a wide range of areas, as well as specialist apprenticeships.

The ECMS is a flagship training facility for the Black Country, which is set to open its doors in August this year and designed to boost productivity within the region’s manufacturing sector.

Developed in response to gaps in skills and provision highlighted by the Black Country Local Enterprise Partnership, the ECMS will deliver specialist apprenticeships and short courses as part of a collaboration between:

• The Black Country Local Enterprise Partnership (LEP)

• University of Wolverhampton

• Dudley College

• Cast Metals Federation

• Confederation of British Metalforming

• Institute of Cast Metals Engineers

Courses include Lean, Problem Solving & Decision Making, Control of Quality in the Workplace, Basic Employment Law and Health & Safety as an Operational Manager/Leader.
